ENG: this one is difficult to explain (and often omitted in the list of zeno’s paradoxes on motion). let us consider three rows of soldiers: A, B and C and let us refer to time and space divided in elementary intervals. row A stays still while row B moves, in the elementary unit time, one space interval on the right, while row C does the same on the left. thus, the time interval in which B is at 1 soldier with respect to row A, is the same interval in which C is at - 1 in respect to A, but also - 2 with respect to B. therefore there must have been a time unit at which row B and row C were only at 1 soldier difference, which is, so to speak, half of an elementary time unit, which obviously cannot exist not being unitary (as to say: 1/2 = 1).

ITA: questo e' tosto da spiegare: consideriamo tre file di soldati A, B, C e riferiamoci al tempo ed allo spazio divisibili in unita' elementari. la fila A resta ferma mentre la fila di soldatini B si muove, nell'unita' di tempo, verso destra di una posizione e la fila C verso sinistra. ebbene l'unita' di tempo in cui B e' a 1 soldatino a destra della fila A, corrisponde all'unita' di tempo in cui la fila C e' a - 1 da A, ma anche a - 2 soldatini da B; quindi deve per forza essere esistita un'unita' di tempo in cui la fila B e la fila C si sono distanziate di 1 soldatino, che e', per cosi' dire, mezza unita' di tempo, che non esiste, altrimenti che unita' e'?
